On the morning of January 04, 2021, that is, the first working day of this year, a ceremony was held in Shanghai to mark the intensive commencement of major projects. There was a total of 64 major projects started in Shanghai, with total investment amounting to 273.4 billion yuan, which coverd high-end industries, scientific and technological innovation, infrastructure and major livelihood projects etc. Li Qiang, Shanghai Municipal Party Secretary, attended the event and announced the intensive commencement of major projects.
As one of the 64 major projects, the transformation, capacity-increase and extension project of Shanghai Wanxiang Automobile Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CCI Holdings, was started at the same time. Chen Xuanlin, Chairman of CCI Holdings, attended the intensive commencement ceremony.
On the commencement ceremony, project team of Wanxiang Automobile communicated with the main venue by making video call (shown in the yellow box).
The transformation, capacity-increase and extension project of Shanghai Wanxiang Automobile covers a planned area of 130,000 square meters, in which two eight-storey laboratory buildings cover an area of 36,000 square meters, and the new assembly shop covers an area of about 7500 square meters. Shanghai Wanxiang Automobile took one more important step in the R&D and capacity upgrade since all the individual major structures were roofed in the Phase I project of Wanxiang Automobile Industrial Park of Taizhou at the end of 2020.
